In December 2020, both wind and solar energy yields were weak. Germany achieved 92 percent of the average for solar, and only 74 percent for wind. "Nevertheless, renewable energies are right on target for the year as a whole", says Markus W. Voigt, CEO of the aream Group.
Electricity for remote areas and for those who cannot afford it: With the non-profit PowerOneForOne Foundation, founded in 2018, the aream Group is pushing its social commitment. In 2020, another six projects in three countries could be completed. "With this, we have not only achieved our goals, but exceeded them, despite the restrictions caused by the pandemic", says Janine Voigt, Managing Director of the PowerOneForOne Foundation.
A whole universe of new and innovative companies in the cleantech sector is currently emerging around "green energy". For investors, they are currently accessible almost exclusively through private equity investments. "In the foreseeable future, more and more of these cleantech start-ups will go public; for private equity investors, early entry is then often very lucrative", says Markus W. Voigt, CEO of the aream Group.
November 2020 was the warmest since weather records began, according to figures from the EU's Copernicus Earth observation program. Solar radiation was almost exactly within the target, but the wind blew much less strongly. "A moderate month for renewable energies, but this is not enough to use up the good buffer from the previous months," says Markus W. Voigt, CEO of aream Group.
