The wind blew strongly in October 2020, driving electricity production from wind turbines to 129 percent of the expected target. Photovoltaics remained exactly within the target corridor with 100 percent output in Germany. "After several months in which the buffer from the spring melted away due to weak wind in the summer, wind is now delivering well above plan again", says Markus W. Voigt, CEO of the aream Group.
The risk/return gap between investments in renewable energies and real estate is widening. "Both asset classes are an alternative to each other especially for institutional investors", says Markus W. Voigt, CEO of aream Group. "While both expect approximately the same net yield, the risk with real estate rises steeply at present."
The trend towards sustainable investments is unbroken. More and more products are coming onto the market and more and more investors are including ESG criteria in their investment decisions. "Renewable energies were pioneers in this field, which is why we have many years of experience in sustainable and impact investing", says Markus W. Voigt, CEO of the aream Group.
September 2020 was one of the weakest wind months in years. Only 67 percent of the wind target was reached. For photovoltaic systems, on the other hand, target achievement was lavish at 114 percent. However, the spread across various renewable energies and regions clearly smoothed out the outlier months. "Viewed over the year, wind is still at 104 percent of the target, and solar is even significantly higher", says Markus W. Voigt, CEO of the aream Group.
