The EU is arguing about whether electricity from nuclear or gas power plants qualifies for inclusion in the ranks of sustainable, green investments. "They don't belong there, that's clear", says Markus W. Voigt, CEO of aream Group. "The good thing is that institutional investors have known that for a long time, act accordingly and won't change it."
The aream Group, which specializes in renewable energies, is further expanding its portfolio. aream is taking over two ground-mounted plants in Spain, which are currently being developed by the seller ReneSola Power Ltd. The total capacity is 12 MWp. "The demand for green power is increasing and so is the demand for investment opportunities", says Patrick Lemcke-Braselmann, aream managing director. "Here we can provide an attractive project for our investors."
France's proposal to declare electricity generated in nuclear power plants as climate-friendly is a disaster in terms of climate policy. "The only beneficiary will be French industry", says Markus W. Voigt, CEO of the aream Group. "This will particularly be at the expense of Germany and may have a significant impact on economic development in 2022."
Last November was warm in Germany, but relatively sunless. Nevertheless, the energy yield from photovoltaics fell only slightly short of the targets. There were larger shortfalls in wind energy. "The fluctuations are not unusual and should be made up in the coming months", says Markus W. Voigt, CEO of aream Group. "In the longer term, shortfalls will be offset by overproduction."
