Long-term electricity supply contracts between companies and energy suppliers are spreading rapidly. No wonder, because these Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) not only offer cost security to the industry. As green PPAs, they are also a favorable way to protect the climate. "In addition, electricity supply contracts can be flexibly adapted to the needs of customers," explains Markus W. Voigt, CEO of the aream Group. "However, companies should seek advice from an experienced partner for the implementation of PPA agreements."
Storage facilities are becoming increasingly important for implementing the energy transition. "They serve to relieve the strain on the weak power lines and to maintain constant capacity," says Markus W. Voigt, CEO of the aream Group. Storage facilities are still set up more as pilot projects, but as early as 2024, large, commercial storage facilities will be built. "These are the infrastructure for grid security and power supply, but also for new forms of electricity trading."
With the past September, another month has broken its heat record. The current year is on course to be the warmest since records began. "Just a few weeks before the next world climate conference, this is a clear sign that politicians must step up their climate protection efforts", comments Markus W. Voigt, CEO of the aream Group. "The last brakes on the expansion of renewable energies must be released now."
Europe's solar technology manufacturers are sounding the alarm: China is flooding the market with its dumping modules, they say, and thus endangering the local industry. Calls for government support and punitive tariffs are already being heard. "Politicians should act extremely cautiously here," warns Markus W. Voigt, CEO of the aream Group. "Because firstly, it is questionable whether there is any price dumping at all, and moreover, the cheap modules are a blessing for renewables in Europe."
