aream expands Lauda wind farm

When it comes to wind power, Germany is lagging far behind the targets set by politicians. aream and Juwi are now contributing to the expansion of capacities by adding an additional turbine to the Lauda wind farm. It is being acquired by aream's Clean Energy Future Fund. "Our fund is thus consistently pursuing its goal of increasing the production and availability of renewable energies and thus contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions," comments Markus W. Voigt, CEO of the aream Group.

The additional turbine is a V162 from Vestas. With its acquisition, aream is expanding its self-managed Lauda-Heckfeld wind farm in the Tauberbischofsheim area, which previously consisted of two V126 3.45 MW turbines. The turbines are connected to the grid via a shared infrastructure. The buyer and operator of the turbine is the Clean Energy Future Fund (CEFF), an aream fund focusing on renewable energies.

The Vestas turbine has a rated output of 5.6 MW and a hub height of 169 meters. The expected annual energy yield is around 13 GWh. Commissioning is scheduled for the end of April 2024. For this project, aream is once again working with the project developer Juwi, which developed the site and is overseeing the construction of the turbine. "Even after the expansion, Juwi will remain the technical operator of the park," explains Voigt.
